    Startups and Small Organisations need to consider the Customer Experience, Business Value and Adhere to Security and Compliance for their clients.  They also need to consider making the project Scalable, make sure the users are involved and that they are Agile.

    QA and QC can help with all of these items but they are  frequently ignored until it is too late.    Then when the product is released there is a scramble to make updates and release items without proper testing.  Putting in QA earlier resolves these problems.

    Organizations are often concerned that testing is not sufficiently focused on finding the problems that really matter. Testers often don’t know how to determine when they’ve tested enough. Testers are naturally inclined to test too much. So we test too much and probably regularly test the wrong things… The solution is simple: back to basics!

    Presenter Bio:

    My personal mission is to improve software quality by shaping better people by connecting, innovating, facilitating, coaching, enabling, and teaching. I’m fascinated by mindset, thinking, behaviour, communication, and collaboration. I’m active in many communities. Some keywords about me: humanist, servant leader, open, direct, creative, idea generator, result-driven, humorous, problem solver, curious, confronting, critical thinker, passionate and energetic, lifelong learner, entrepreneurial, analytic, and continuous (world) improver.   • Quality Assurance

    For those who follow the blog, we gave it a rest over the summer. Not only were we busy with some security testing, we also had a several projects go-live at various dates. One more is going live right now. Between one thing and another, the summer seemed to pass more quickly than we expected. However, quality did not take a break and we are looking forward to the last part of the year for several reasons.

    1. Some of the rush to get critical items updated has abated.
    2. Projects are now running for more extended periods of time which will give more time to get the Quality right
    3. We are getting more buy-in from people with respect to the need for Quality. This is a welcome change

    The need for Quality never goes away; it just reappears in a different format each time. The same techniques often apply; it is just a different situation.
